We're being warned to be on the lookout for snakes, following reported sightings of Adders in Brighton and Hove.
As temperatures begin to get warmer and summer approaches, the reptiles are beginning to emerge from hibernation.
The species is the country's only venomous snake - often found in woodland, coastal areas, and heathland.
Easily recognised by their distinctive zigzag markings, the snaked are usually non-aggressive, though they are known to bite in rare cases if disturbed by humans or animals.
We're told to give them space if seen and to be cautious when walking in long grass or bushy areas.
