80-year-old man dies in M23 crash during veteran car run

An 80-year-old man has died following a crash during the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run yesterday (Sunday, 3). Emergency services were called to the southbound carriageway of the M23 near junction 7 around 10am, after the collision between a 1903 Knox Runabout Old Porcupine car and a HGV took place. Police said the driver of the car died at the scene, while his female passenger was taken to hospital seriously injured. The man's next of kin have been informed, according to police.
