Three women have been charged with attempted robbery, in connection with an alleged bid to steal a valuable wristwatch from a pensioner in Chichester.
According to Sussex Police, officers were flagged down in Lavant Road, Chichester at 10.45am on 15 June to a report that three women attempted to take a Rolex watch, worth £8,000.
The victim — a 74-year-old man — suffered an injury to his arm in the incident north of the City Centre.
Soon after, police made three arrests nearby.
Cassandra Dimitri, 22, of Nutfield Place, Portsmouth, Minodra Marin, 21, of New Road, Portsmouth, and Mihaela Petre, 28, of Nutfield Place, Portsmouth, have since been charge with attempted robbery.
They appeared at Crawley Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, 16 June and were released on conditional bail to appear at Lewes Crown Court on 14 July.
