Emergency services attended Southwick Beach this afternoon, following the discovery of a body.
The coastguard, RNLI, paramedics, police and the police helicopter attended the scene and a cordon was set up to protect the area where the body was found.
Police say they received a report of a body in the sea at around 1.30pm today (Friday 5).
They added: "The investigation is ongoing and the coroner’s officer has been informed."
