Body Found In Brighton: Male, 17, Arrested On Suspicion Of Murder

Police have arrested a boy aged 17 on suspicion of murder, after the body of a 69-year-old woman was found at an address in Withdean, Brighton.

Officers were called to a residence in Cedars Gardens at 6.55pm yesterday, January 7.

They found the woman's body when they arrived.

Police said the 17-year-old is currently in custody for interview and further enquiries.

Officers added that the investigating team is not currently looking for anyone else in relation to the crime, and they believe there is no risk to the local community.

The investigation is being carried out by detectives from the Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team working with local officers.

Sussex Police have told the media that no further information is available at present.
