Body Found On Beach Believed To Be That Of Missing Kayaker

Sussex Police say a body found on the beach at Hove is believed to be that of a kayaker who was reported missing on Sunday morning.

As previously reported by More Radio, a major search took place throughout the day after reports of a person in the water near Hove Lagoon.

Next of kin have been informed, and the matter is with the coroner's officer.

A police spokesperson said:

"Police were called to Hove seafront at 5.30am on Tuesday (August 4) to reports of a body found on the beach.

"Formal identification has yet to take place, but the body is believed to be that of a kayaker reported missing on Sunday morning (August 2)."
