Brighton Love Island star Connor Durman has apologised for racist remarks he allegedly made in text messages in 2019.
Connor, originally from Worthing, posted a statement on Instagram this afternoon (Tuesday) saying he is sorry for 'innapropriate and racist remarks' written in the message to his ex-girlfriend.
The 26-year-old said it was a combination of lockdown and the Black Lives Matter movement that has given him time to reflect on his past.
He said the movement has given him a 'huge insight into racism' and he would like to use his influence positively in the future.
It's after he was reportedly called out by fellow islander Jordan Waobikeze for supporting Black Lives Matter by posting a black square on Blackout Tuesday without addressing the alleged messages.
