Organisers of Eastbourne's Beach Life Music Festival have had to relocate at the last minute after over 50 unauthorised vehicles parked up at the venue.
Although the vehicles have now been moved on by police, the crew were unable to set up the live music and street food outlets at Prince's Park yesterday (Thursday 15th) and have instead set up at Western Lawns.
All other activities, including the skating arena and watersports, will continue to take place at Buzz Active and Fisherman’s Green.
The event is due to take place this weekend on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th, from 11am until 6pm. Entry is free.
As of this morning, organisers say that most of the travellers have now been moved on by police and the park is open again for the public.
A spokesperson for the council said:
"The arrival of 50+ unauthorised vehicles across the event and funfair site at Princes Park today, has resulted in the venue no longer being accessible for the important set up of the festival, including the build of the stage, catering outlets and utilities.
"The Western Lawns is a superb alternative location so now that the event as moved, it's not an issue, everything will go ahead as planned."
