A court date has been set for a driver who is accused of motoring at 200mph on the A23 in Sussex during lockdown.

James Hollett, 39, of Grouse Road, Pease Pottage, is set to appear before Crawley magistrates to face a string of charges.

The court will hear he's accused of:

  • Dangerous driving, relating to speeding on the M23 near Crawley on 26 April 2020;
  • Aggravated vehicle taking, relating to the same incident;
  • Dangerous driving, relating to a different incident — this time on the A24 near Horsham on 2 June 2019.

Sussex Police said the charges facing Mr. Hollett came after what they called an "extensive investigation".

The case is scheduled for Wednesday August 4.
