Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault in Crowborough on Friday (October 8) in which a man suffered serious facial injuries.
The 39-year-old local man was leaving a convenience store in Crowborough Hill just after 7pm, when a man approached him near Jarvis Brook Social Club.
He assaulted the victim in a sustained attack that left him with multiple facial fractures and a potentially life-changing eye injury.
Following a swift investigation, a 26-year-old man from Crowborough was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. He was released on conditional bail while enquiries continue.
Anybody who witnessed the assault, including members of the public understood to have filmed it on their mobile phones, is asked to contact police online or by calling 101, quoting serial 1002 of 09/10.
