A man from Eastbourne has been charged with stabbing a boy in the town on Monday (January 11).
Police said Joseph Heavey, 30, unemployed, of Seaside, appeared in custody at Brighton Magistrates Court on Tuesday (January 12), charged with causing grievous bodily harm to the boy outside an address in Seaside.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Lewes Crown Court on February 9
According to officers, the boy is still receiving hospital treatment for a serious arm injury.
His injuries are not assessed as life threatening or life changing.
The man and boy are known to each other.
Detective Constable Glen Saunders of Eastbourne CID said:
"Anyone who saw what happened is asked to contact us either online or by calling 101, quoting serial 551 of 11/01."
