Stafford Junior School in Ringwood Road will remain closed today (Tuesday) following a fire at the site on Sunday.
A letter to parents and carers from the Executive Headteacher says an investigation and safety assessments need to be carried out to assess the damage caused.
Free school meals and care packages are being distributed to eligible children by Roselands Infants’ school.
A letter to parents from Kyra Siddall-Ward read:
'Arrangements for some children to attend Cavendish School from tomorrow are being made. Parents and carers have been contacted about this.
'We have diverted phone lines to Roselands Infants’ School and calls will be picked up by the administration team there. Please only telephone in the case of an emergency; please email the Stafford office in the usual way about routine matters. This inbox is being monitored.
'Whilst we appreciate that you will be keen to know abut developments at the school, we do not have the capacity to respond to individual enquires about this. Therefore, we will be issuing regular updates as and when we have further information to share
'We would like to thank parents and carers and the local community for the many thoughtful expressions of support. We would also like to thank all the staff for their very immediate and focused hard work to establish the new routines for the children’s learning.'
