Eastbourne: Woman Arrested For Racially Assaulting Taxi Driver

Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman reportedly racially assaulted a taxi driver and repeatedly kicked his car outside Eastbourne railway station.

It happened at around midnight on Saturday (Nov 13). When the driver got out of his car to stop her kicking it, he was repeatedly punched in the head.

The woman, aged 24 and from Eastbourne, was arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated common assault, racially aggravated criminal damage and racially aggravated intentional harassment. She was released on police bail until Sunday, December 5, as enquiries continue.

Several people are thought to have been in the area at the time and officers are keen to talk to anyone who saw the incident, recorded it on their phones or have relevant dash cam footage.
