Police in Hastings are investigating after a 70-year-old man suffered head injuries in a late-night assault.
At about 10.15pm on Monday (1 June), police and ambulance crews were called to Priory Meadow in the town centre after reports of a violent assault that had left the victim unconscious.
Police are appealing for witnesses, or who may have heard a disturbance in the area at the time to come forward.

A 19-year-old man from Hastings was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.
He has been released on conditional bail while enquiries continue.
