Elderly man dies following two-car collision near Petworth

An elderly man involved in a two-car collision near Petworth yesterday afternoon (Tuesday, 24) has died. The 83-year-old was driving one of the cars which struck each other on the A283 north of Petworth just before 3pm. Police said four people, a man and woman in each of the cars, were taken to hospital for treatment. The woman passenger in the elderly man's car sustained serious injuries, according to officers, while a woman driving the other car also had serious injuries. Police said her male passenger sustained minor injuries, including cuts and bruises. Anyone with information is asked to contact police online, or call 101, quoting Operation Jericho.
