East Sussex Fire & Rescue are attending a fire in Back Lane, Cross-in-Hand this morning (April 18).
They said they'd received a call at 2.20am this morning to report the house fire and at 4.28am Wealden Police tweeted to say that the property was "well alight" and that they were on the scene assisting the fire service.
Four engines and a water carrier attended the scene and were damping down until just before 5am.
They say they're likely to be working at the scene for some time.
The cause of the fire is as yet unknown.
The public are being advised to avoid the area.
