A small fire has been detected and put out on Eastbourne Pier this afternoon (July 31).
According to East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service, crews were called at 2.21pm today, after what they described as a "small trailer" between two buildings caught light.
It had been extinguished when they arrived, but firefighters remained on site to use a thermal imaging camera to check for any other dangerous areas.
They were also damping down as the operation drew to a close.
There's no information yet about any possible cause.
It's six years and one day since a far more devastating fire destroyed much of Eastbourne Pier, on 30 July 2014.
