Six fire engines were present at an incident at Sussex House on Crowhurst Road yesterday evening (March 29) at around 6.30pm.
They were called to reports of a fire at the two storey commercial building on Crowhurst Road, which comprises offices and the Kent, Surrey and Sussex probation service.
A spokesperson at East Sussex Fire & Rescue said:
"Six fire engines were mobilised. Crews used breathing apparatus, hose reel jets and covering jets, along with the aerial appliance, to put the fire out. Utilities were isolated. There are no reports of injuries.
"The fire affected a two storey commercial building used as storage and a gym.
"As of 21.00, the operation was being scaled back to two fire engines.
"Police and ambulance also attended."
The building, in Hollingbury, comprises offices and the Kent, Surrey and Sussex probation service.
