Five people have been detained after a 13-year-old was allegedly stabbed in Worthing.
Sussex Police says the incident happened on Chapel Road.
The boy has been taken to hospital.
It follows a large police presence in the town centre.
Officers with firearms were called earlier this afternoon.
Posting on Twitter, the force said:
“We've detained five people following an alleged stabbing in Chapel Road, Worthing.
”A 13-year-old boy has been taken to hospital for treatment.
“This is believed to be an isolated incident, with no threat to the wider community.
“Please contact us if you saw what happened.”
