Police officers in Sussex have arrested four people in connection with an attack on a man walking through Crawley town centre.
The victim, who is in his 40s, suffered serious injuries after he was punched and kicked while in The Broadway around 9.30pm on Sunday night, September 20.
According to police, he was taken to hospital for medical treatment.
These are the arrests officers made:
- An 18-year-old man from Crawley was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.
He was released on police bail until 23 October. - An 18-year-old man from Crawley was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a cannabis.
He was released on police bail until 22 October. - A 17-year-old boy from Crawley was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.
He was released on police bail until 24 October. - A 19-year-old man from Crawley was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent.
He was released on police bail until 22 October.
Police have appealed for witnesses and information, which can be submitted online or by calling 101 and quoting "Operation Burgate".
