Littlehampton Firefighters Take On ‘Station To Station’ Charity Challenge

Two firefighters from Littlehampton Fire Station will put their grit and determination to the test as they hike 52 miles in less than a day.

On Tuesday (5 November) Jordie O’Hara and Katie Gray will be walking from East Grinstead Fire Station to Selsey Fire Station, wearing full fire kit and breathing apparatus.

Despite the walk taking the average person one day and three hours, they plan to tackle the challenge within just 24 hours.

Speaking of their upcoming challenge, Jordie said:

“We have definitely set ourselves a bold challenge, but we are determined to complete it within our targeted timeframe.

“My wellbeing dog (Audrey the Golden Retriever) will also be taking part in some of the walk, so I think she will help us keep pace when we no doubt start to flag!”

The duo will be raising money for The Fire Fighters Charity through their online donation page, and on the day of event they will have collection buckets for the Chestnut Tree House.

Katie added:

“We’re hoping to raise awareness of the work both these amazing charities do. The Fire Fighters Charity support firefighters and their families from the day the join the fire service, and even once they leave.

“Jordie and I recently visited the Chestnut Tree House too and we were in awe of the facilities they provide and the work they do, so we’re hoping to help in any way we can to bring them more donations.”
