Three people have been rescued by a jet skier after their dinghy got swept up by the windy weather near Pagham yesterday (Sunday).
Littlehampton Coastguard alongside the Rescue Helicopter, lifeboats from Littlehampton RNLI Lifeboat Station and Selsey Lifeboat Station were tasked last night to reports of an ‘upturned vessel’ – with 3 persons in the water.
Once on the scene a local resident was found to have already launched their jet ski after spotting the casualties in the water.
All casualties were brought to shore in fast time.
The inflatable had been caught out by the waves and wind causing it to crash into the Mulberry Harbour - causing half of the boat to deflate and sink.
The partly deflated dinghy was recovered and brought ashore by the lifeboats whilst Coastguards carried out welfare checks.
There are no reported injuries.
In a coastal emergency call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
