Man arrested after two suspected arson incidents in Bognor

A man has been arrested in connection with two suspected cases of arson in Bognor early this morning (Monday, 28). Firefighters were called to a shed fire in Bedford Street just before 2am, before a second call was received to bins alight in Longford Road. There were also fears the fire had spread to a nearby shop, according to police. Officers said it was restricted to smoke damage and other damage caused while the fire was being extinguished. A 39-year-old local man arrested on suspicion of arson remains in custody. Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting reference number 120 of 28/10.
