Man Arrested In Connection With Rape On Ringmer Village Green

A man has been arrested in connection with the rape of a woman on the village green at Ringmer.

According to police, the victim, who is in her 20s, was sitting on the green when a man approached, and raped her.

The attacker made off from the scene afterwards.

Officers said the victim was left shaken by the incident, and was receiving support from specially trained police.

A 36-year-old man from Haywards Heath has been arrested on suspicion of rape.

At the time of writing (August 20), police said he remained in custody as an investigation continued.
