An investigation has begun after a man was assaulted and robbed in the Broadwalk area of town last Sunday (May 22) at around 2am by a group of men.
Some of the man's belongings were stolen from him before the group left the scene.
Members of the public assisted the victim after the incident and he was able to return home.
Since then, a 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and released on conditional bail while enquiries continue.
Officers investigating the matter are keen to speak to anyone who assisted the victim, or who saw what happened.
