A man is due to appear in court today (Thursday 15) in connection with an alleged assault on a cyclist in Mid Sussex on Tuesday (13).
According to police, it's after an altercation between a car driver and a cyclist in Paddockhurst Road in Turners Hill, at around 4.50pm.
The cyclist, a man in his 40s, suffered significant head injuries and was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton. He remained in hospital in a stable condition on Thursday morning.
David Francis, 28, a mechanic, of West Hoathly Road, East Grinstead, was arrested and later charged with grievous bodily harm with intent and driving a motor vehicle dangerously.
He appeared before Crawley Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (April 15) and was remanded in custody to next appear in court on May 13.
