Man Tasered After Brandishing Broken Bottle In Brighton

A man has been tasered after brandishing a broken bottle in Brighton, in an incident where an officer sustained minor injuries.

Police were called at around 2.10pm to reports of a man in possession of a smashed bottle threatening to harm himself inside a retail store in Western Road.

According to police, a taser was deployed after he also threatened officers and the man was arrested.

He has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker and public order offences and has been taken to hospital.

Officers believe this was an isolated incident.
