East Sussex County Council has launched a new, flexible, on demand ride-share service operating across the county.
Residents can book a FlexiBus journey to their nearest town, train station, hospital and other key destinations in their area that aren't serviced by an existing public transport route, including main bus services.
The cost of a Flexibus ride is equivalent to a standard bus fare, capped at £2 for a single journey until the end of October or you can buy an adult day pass for £5.
As it's is a ride-share service you can pick up or drop off others on your way, but you cannot add multiple stops or change your pickup/drop off location after booking.
Rides can be booked up to 30 minutes before you want to travel and up to seven days in advance and can be booked online, using an app or by telephone to the call centre.
You can book up to five seats per trip, as long as seats are available.
Journeys can be made:
- to and from anywhere within a zone
- to and from key destinations outside a zone (eg towns, other transport links etc)
