Pensioner attacked and robbed in his own home in Hailsham

Two men reportedly attacked and robbed a 70-year-old man in his own home in Hailsham last Thursday (February, 20). Police said the suspects, described as wearing hooded tops and aged in their early 20s, entered the property in Terminus Place between 7pm and 7.30pm. The pensioner's wallet, containing bank cards and around £300 cash, was stolen. Officers said the victim was taken to hospital with a black eye and a cut arm. DC Carly Owen said: "The victim was struck with a metal object, possibly a large torch, and was punched several times in the face. "We are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious last Thursday evening at this location." Police said one of the suspects was described as black, short and of slight build, the other was white, 5'11" in height and weighing around 12 stone. Anyone with information is asked to contact 101, quoting serial 1228 of 20/02.
