A person has been hit by a train between Horsham and Barnham this afternoon (Tuesday 26).
Southern Rail said all lines were blocked between the two stations shortly before 1pm.
Emergency services were called to deal with the incident.
No trains can move between Horsham and Barnham and nearby trains are being held at stations until emergency services have reopened the line.
Passengers are advised to travel later if they can and rail replacement buses will operate between the two stations.
Disruption is expected until around 4pm.
UPDATE 14:10:
A spokesperson from British Transport Police said the person died at Billingshurst station at around 12.52pm.
Officers are working to identify the person and inform their family.
The incident is not being treated as suspicious.
A spokesperson from BTP said:
"Officers were called to Billingshurst station at 12.52pm following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended however sadly a person has been pronounced dead at the scene.
"Officers are now working to identify the person and inform their family.
"The incident is not being treated as suspicious and the file will be prepared for the coroner."

Sadly, a second person has died after being hit by a train in West Sussex.
