
A collision between two lorries and multiple cars on the A27 early yesterday evening (Aug 8) has resulted in five casualties.
Two people were airlifted to hospital with possibly serious injuries, according to police, after the collision, which happened at around 4.15pm.
It took place on the A27 westbound between the Fishbourne and Stockbridge roundabouts near Chichester and the road was closed in both directions for some time as emergency services attended to victims and investigated the scene.
Three people were taken to the Royal County Hospital in Brighton with minor injuries.
Pictures taken at the scene indicate two lorries, a van and two cars were involved in the collision.
