As thousands flocked to Sussex's beaches on the hottest day of the year yesterday (Thursday), staff from Brighton And Hove City Council were left with the task of cleaning up.
In a tweet this morning, the city council revealed that it took six members of staff five hours to clean 600m of the beach, after visitors left litter strewn across the seafront.
Our staff start at 5am. Today, it took 6 of them 5 hours to clear rubbish on the beach from Brighton Pier to West St

It says there are around 400 bins along the seafront which are available to use to dispose of litter.
This was the state of Brighton beach this morning (Friday).
