Police are investigating a knifepoint robbery at a store in Peacehaven where a masked man threatened a shop assistant. Officers said the man, who was wearing a black padded jacket with the hood drawn up and a scarf or balaclava covering most of his face, entered the Ashington Stores in Ashington Gardens at 7pm last Monday evening (November, 25). According to police, he threatened a woman assistant with a knife, and demanded she open the till, before running off with a quantity of cash. Police said there was a possibility he may have joined an accomplice waiting outside. DC David Hawes said: "We would like to hear from anyone who saw a man or men acting suspiciously in the vicinity around the relevant time, or who may have dash-cam or CCTV footage that could assist our enquiries." The suspect's clothing also included dark jogging bottoms with a reflective stripe on each outer edge, dark-coloured trainers and latex, surgical-style gloves. Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting reference number 1169 of 25/11.
