Police Name Suspect On The Run In Eastbourne Rape Investigation

Police in Eastbourne are searching for 46-year-old Mark Lee Crooks (pictured in police image, above) who they want to interview about the rape of a woman.

Officers described him as white, of slender build, 6'1", with shoulder length greying hair and a piercing through his nose.

The victim has been receiving support from specialist officers.

Detective Constable Jay Smith of the East Sussex Safeguarding Investigations Unit said:

"Crooks knows that we are searching for him but has failed to respond.

"He may still be in the local area and if you have any information on his whereabouts please contact us online or by calling 101, quoting serial 1123 of 15/05."

Police also invited anonymous responses to the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
