A serving officer with the Metropolitan Police has been charged with voyeurism offences in Brighton and elsewhere.
The police service in London said on Sunday evening that Detective Inspector Neil Corbel, 40, faces 19 counts of voyeurism within the Greater London, Manchester and Brighton areas.
He is also accused of the same offence within the jurisdiction of the Central Criminal Court (the Old Bailey).
All charges relate to alleged offending between January 2017 and February 2020.
DI Corbel, from the Met's "Continuous Policing Improvement command", was not on duty at the time of the alleged offences.
He will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court today, Monday, 13 September, after being formally accused by postal charge requisition on Wednesday, 11 August,
The Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards has been informed.
DI Corbel is currently suspended from duty, the Met said.
