Seven people who'd illegally gathered on hills around a Sussex chalk-pit on Sunday (February 7), to use off-road bikes, have been issued police penalties for breaking Covid restrictions.
Officers said the fines were handed out at Lewes's chalk-pits, in East Sussex, to adults who'd travelled from West Sussex.
Police called the gathering, at the unauthorised biker's playground, "non-essential" — and, now, "expensive".
Current laws generally permit gatherings in most public spaces outside, for exercise, of a maximum of two people.
Guidelines state that only local travel, for the same purpose, is acceptable.
