Officers attending an address to investigate the sound of smashing glass, have discovered a cannabis factory of six rooms and an estimated 300 plants.
Residents in Dyke Road said they saw a man with a knife run from the property around 4am on Tuesday (Sept 7) after a suspected burglary.
A 28-year-old-man was arrested and was released under investigation.
Following the discovery, police guarded the site while the electric company made it safe and forensic officers gathered evidence from the scene - all the plants and cultivation equipment were seized.
Officers are now trying to trace the suspects involved in the cannabis production.
