Rapist from Bexhill jailed for offences against young women

A young man from Bexhill has been jailed for ten years for sexual offences against two teenage girls, including raping one of them. Lewis Jackson, 19, a hairdresser of Filsham Drive in Bexhill, was sentenced today (Friday, 30) at Hove Crown Court, having been convicted last month of raping a 17-year-old girl, and sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl. Police said Jackson, who had previously served a custodial sentence for a series of violent and coercive offences, carried out the offences in 2016 and 2017. Detective Constable Sally O'Shaughnessy, of the East Sussex Safeguarding Investigations Unit, said: "They [the victims] both have a long road ahead of them in terms of rebuilding their trust and faith in human nature. "Anyone who finds themselves at risk of physical abuse or sexual exploitation in any way need not suffer in silence. "You can contact us at any time, and can arrange to talk in confidence to experienced investigators."
