Reported Abduction In Brighton Investigated

Brighton, from the railway viaduct

Police are investigating a report that a teenage boy was abducted by two men and later released in Brighton on Thursday afternoon (30 July).

Officers said that shortly before 3pm that day, a 17-year-old boy was said to have been forced into the back of a black car by two males at a bus stop in Upper Bevendean Avenue.

He was later pushed out of the vehicle in the Elm Grove area.

Police located the victim later that day, and found him safe and well.

Assisting the investigation is Detective Constable Janet Summers.

DC Summers said:

"We are urging anyone who witnessed what happened to come forward and speak to us about what they saw.

"CCTV enquiries suggest there were a number of vehicles which drove past while the incident was taking place.

"We are particularly keen to speak to the drivers, and request any dash-cam footage that may have captured what happened."

Anyone with information can report online or call 101, quoting serial 893 of 30/07.
