A road traffic collision is causing delays on the A259 at the junction with Marine Parade in Seaford this morning, according to More Radio listeners.
The East Sussex Fire and Rescue service, along with ambulance crews are said to be at the scene.
Police are reportedly turning back vehicles heading towards the junction.
The incident is causing delays in both directions.
UPDATED 09.56:
An East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said:
"We were called at 07:35 to attend an RTC involving two vehicles on A259, Seaford. Crews from Newhaven and Seaford are in attendance.
"One person was extricated by firefighters and handed over in to the care of SECAMB.
"The road is closed both ways and Sussex Police are also in attendance."
