A section of Green Street in Eastbourne was cordoned-off earlier today (August 3) as police tried to negotiate with a man who had climbed onto a roof.
Sussex Police said this morning that the man had made his way to the roof after an "arrest attempt for a wanted person" at an address in the street.
The cordon, officers continued, was to "ensure the safety of police, the public and the man".
He was reported earlier as "engaging with specialist negotiators".
Shortly before mid-day, police said the incident was continuing, and asked the public to avoid the area.
But by 1.15pm, reports said the man had left the roof, and has agreed to attend a police interview.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service staff added that firefighters from Eastbourne and Hastings Bohemia Road had been in attendance to assist.
