Rustington Assault Leaves Man Needing Surgery

Police are investigating following an assault in Rustington in which a victim was left with serious injuries.

Reports say one man struck another to the head behind Uncle Sams Hamburger Express on Worthing Road at around 5pm last Wednesday, August 25th.

The 48-year-old victim from Littlehampton required surgery to his face following the assault.

A 31-year-old man from Rustington was arrested and released under investigation.

Police are asking witnesses to come forward.

Detective Constable Molly O’Malley said:

“This was a nasty incident where the victim suffered multiple facial fractures.

“We are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed what happened.

“Anyone with information should report online or call 101 and quoting serial 1119 of 25/08.”
