Vandals have damaged part of a church in Sussex that has sections dating back to the 12th century or earlier.
In St. Leonard's Church in Seaford, which is Grade I listed, part of a stained-glass window has been smashed.
The window, depicting Christ as the "Good Shepherd", was installed in 1954 after being made in Hove by the firm Cox & Barnard.
According to church officials, it was a gift from a local school.
Specialist heritage police are investigating the damage, which happened between Saturday night and Sunday morning (September 12–13).
Sussex Police said they welcome information given on-line or by telephoning 101, with reference 47200157415.
Below is the window as it was before the vandalism.
