Reports say rescue teams have tonight (August 2) called off their search for a kayaker who has been reported missing near Brighton.
HM Coastguard says a person was seen "going into the water" from the boat off Hove Lagoon this morning.
Officials said Coastguard Rescue Teams from Newhaven and Shoreham joined the search as well as the Brighton RNLI lifeboat and a Coastguard Rescue helicopter.
A kayak and paddle have been found on the shoreline of the area, which you can see at the top of this page.
Coastguards earlier told the media that they had received information to confirm the identity of the missing kayaker as the search continued.
