A second body has been recovered from the sea by RNLI lifeboat crews and HM Coastguard who were searching after a dinghy was found floating empty in the sea off Shoreham yesterday (Monday).
As reported previously by More Radio, the body of a man was discovered in the sea off Brighton and recovered by the RNLI Shoreham lifeboat just after 5pm yesterday (Monday).
Police said it became apparent that the man's friend was also missing, and a search continued at sea on Monday evening and this morning (Tuesday).
The second body was discovered by a Coastguard helicopter at around 8.45am.
No formal identification has taken place, but it is believed to be that of the missing man.
His next-of-kin have been advised.
