A second road traffic accident within 13 hours on the same road occurred in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday).
The southbound carriage of the A23 at Pyecombe was the location of a single-vehicle collision shortly after 1am.
A spokesperson for Sussex Police confirmed:
"The driver suffered a minor injury following the crash.
"The road was cleared by 5.15am following carriageway repairs."
The previous afternoon saw a car end up on its roof on the A23 following a multi-vehicle accident.
