The A27 is expected to be shut for a 'considerable' amount of time after a serious collision between an HGV and a car this morning (Friday).
West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said a person has been released from the HGV using tools, and the two occupant of the other vehicle had self released before their arrival, at around 5.54am.
Crews from Chichester, Bognor, Havant, Hampshire and Cosham attended the scene.
The incident is thought to have happened Westbound, between Fishbourne and Warblington.
The road is now shut in both directions between Chichester at Fishbourne and Warblington for Emsworth.
SECAmb and Sussex Police are also at the scene.
At around 7am, officials said the road is expected to be closed for a 'considerable' amount of time.

The #A27 Westbound between Fishbourne and Warblington is blocked after an RTC involving an HGV.
Crews from @ChichesterFire and @BognorFire are there together with @Hants_fire crews from @HavantFire16 and @Cosham23.
Please avoid the #A27 for the time being.

Crews have released one person from the HGV using small tools. Driver of other vehicle self released prior to FRS attendance.
