An inquest's heard the police officer killed in south London last week died from a gunshot wound to the chest.
Sergeant Matt Ratana passed away after a handcuffed gunman opened fire in a custody suite in Croydon on Friday (September 25).
A preliminary post-mortem examination report has been read at Croydon Coroner's Court.
The inquest has been opened and adjourned.
Sgt. Ratana was Head Coach of East Grinstead Rugby Club in West Sussex.
