A fault with the signalling system between East Croydon and Brighton means trains running between these stations may be cancelled or diverted until 9am this morning (Feb 26).
Southern is advising that people add an extra 30 minutes to complete their journey as a number of routes across the Southern and Thameslink route have been affected by the issue.
They added that some of the changes to services may happen at very short notice and that they don't have an exact estimate for how long it will take to get to your destination.
The disruption is due to a major signalling fault, which has affected all lines between London and the Coast. This meant that no service was able to run.
Working with Network Rail, signalling has been restored on most lines but some lines are still affected. Services will be re-introduced when all the signalling has been restored.
