Two men were arrested on suspicion of attempted theft yesterday evening (Thursday) — with one found after fleeing the scene.
Police responded to a report of two men acting suspiciously in Southover Road, Lewes, at about 8pm.
The men were stopped by attending officers and one of them was arrested on suspicion of attempted theft.
The other man attempted to make off from the scene and was found near the railway line a short time later.
He was also arrested on suspicion of attempted theft.
